The Client

When we first began working with Ori they went by the name ONEder. Founded in 2011, ONEder had been focused on improving the quality of life for all students by simplifying the teaching and learning of life skills, but now they were looking to launch an expanded platform, set of curricula and website with a fresh name and identity to help expand the reach and impact of this important work.

The Name

Our engagement began with a discovery period, followed by a naming exercise. During one of the conversations we had with their founder Jon, he shared a bit of his personal story with us. He said,
“The cornerstone of my inspiration was my younger brother, Oriel, who is nonverbal due to autism. His indomitable spirit ignited the spark that eventually evolved into ONEder.”

Ori, short for Oriel, became the new brand name that would inspire our brand strategy and visual identity system, leading to a successful rollout of the new brand.

Brand Identity

The Ori brand identity is more than a logo–it’s a rich system combining shapes, illustrations and photography that works to balance education with personality and approachability.
